Me and my dad went to the Underworld to see 4 bands. I was mostly there to see Ingested, as they were one of the first death metal bands I ever heard
Here's the lineup:
-Malice
-Pintglass
-Vulvodynia
-Ingested
Malice was great, I feel like I shouldve discovered them earlier because that really deep groovy slam was more my thing in 2023 ish. Couldn't find them on my usual streaming services, but I've got a vague memory of finding a band called Malice which sounds completely different to what I remember from the concert.
Pintglass was so much fun, they were asking for what jobs people had and one bloke said "I ride my bike" (think he was a deliveroo driver or something), and they yelled "GIVE US A REAL TRADE!". They'd yell "GEEZER GEEZER" and we'd all respond "GEEZER". Also they all wore high-vis jackets and the lead singer had a santa hat, boxers with pastries on them, and nothing else. 10/10, only band I've got a picture of
Vulvodynia is just one of the best bands that ever ever. Such fucking talented musicians never mind anything else. The lead singer encouraged us to go insane in the mosh pit which was mad, if you've ever been to the Underworld you know, it's bloody tiny so the mosh pit is insane and almost unavoidable. Their music is just brilliant, go listen rn!
Last but not least, Ingested. I discovered death metal in late 2021 and they came up on my spotify thing (I don't use spotify anymore). I remember thinking the name was so funny, and telling my friend at school about it. I've been listening to them since then, and so when I heard they were coming to Camden I had to see them. Fuck. Skinned and fucked is so much better live! All those songs I'd listened to over the past 3 years were so great to hear live. I loved the show so much!
