First non-metal show I've written about. I actually heard they were coming to London (roundhouse again) on a spotify advert. I had a serious goth phase when I was a kid, and they were the main actual goth band I listened to, so I had to see them
Normally I'd put the lineup but they only had 1 support act. Was a band called Oversize, not really my thing but it was good.
After the support act we got dinner, it was pizza and they had vegan pizza so I didn't shit myself. Was decent to eat as well
Fuck, I felt so emotional getting to see them, their music means so much to me. I say them, out of the people that wrote the original music it's really just Andrew Eldritch now, and he's a bit of a prick I've heard, but there's great musicians in the band that have joined since the others left. One of them (guitarist I think, too dark to see if it was a bass) did the wailing bit in temple of love, it was fucking brilliant. I've heard that their shows can be hit or miss nowadays because Andrew Eldritch can be a bit unpredictable, but it was really good, overheard a few people say it was better than other times they'd seen them.
At one point he said he was taking requests (obviously about to do Lucretia my Reflection) but I yelled body electric cause I fucking love that song and I hadn't heard it yet, for some reason people around me thought he'd actually hear and do body electric instead, seemed angry. Lot less polite than the metalheads I'm used to!
Lost my shit when they did this corrosion, was my favourite back in the day. They did all the classic ones and some I didn't really recognise cause I mostly like first and last and always, don't know a lot of songs outside that other than the famous ones.
Was a great show, and it was great to see them after all my years of being a fan.
